Lovable 16.2hh 13yo Dutch Warmblood Gelding

Description
A stunning, incredibly affectionate 16.2hh, 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding with a heart of gold. He is a truly lovable horse looking for a dedicated, long-term loan home. He can be moved to a new yard, but direct access to off-road hacking is key

What He Offers:
He is a former show jumper with established flatwork and a brilliant brain. He is fantastic to hack in company (happy to lead or follow), loves routine, and responds beautifully to intelligent groundwork. He is a gentleman to catch, shoe, and clip. He can be a little slow to load if hassled, but he does load well with a patient, quiet approach. He is ideally suited for off-road hacking, fun rides, light schooling on a good surface, and limited jumping. Due to his history, he is strictly not available for competitive SJ, XC, hunting, or team chasing.

Health & Management:
He has a history of Proximal Suspensory Desmitis (PSD). However, his recent scans over the last two years show no worsening of his hind leg ligaments, and he is completely sound. To keep him sound and comfortable, he requires strict weight management, good shoeing, and regular, sensible exercise on good surfaces.
He is absolutely not a novice ride or suitable for a novice owner.

Applicant Criteria – We Will Only Accept Applications Meeting the Following:
Yard Setup: You must have direct access to off-road hacking and all year round turn out. No deep surfaces on the Menage as this is likely to flare up the PSD.
He has been in a loan home with one other horse and started napping at leaving his companion behind so we think he is better suited to a home where there are more horses.

Experience: An experienced, confident, and patient handler

Approach: Someone who understands the management of a stable PSD history (warm-ups, good surfaces, weight control) and will never use force or rush him. Would love his loaner to be interested in groundwork to support the ridden work.
He is a deeply rewarding, talented horse who will thrive with someone who wants a true partnership built from the ground up.

He is based near Milton Keynes and ideally we’d prefer him to stay here and would consider a share arrangement. However, please do not apply if you are more than one hour from NN12. Exceptions would be near Stratford upon Avon or Gloucester as these are also near family.
