Hope, a 14.3h Appaloosa X, 11yr old mare was advertised for full loan back in June through Right Horse Right Home.  As she could do a bit of everything and was very sensible she was understandably very popular and received a number of high quality applications from people keen to be considered by her.  Within a couple of weeks her owner, Rebecca, who had owned Hope for some 8yrs, agreed on a lady called Olivia to have Hope following viewings and reference checks.   We then drew up the Loan Agreement and off she went from North Yorkshire to Warwickshire to become the perfect allrounder pony for daughter Poppy.

Owner Rebecca wrote to us just recently to say  “My Horse Hope is doing amazing in her new Long term Loan home. She settled into the amazing family of Olivia Lee and her daughter Poppy. From learning to jump, Pony Club activities and XC she has an active loving home. I receive regular updates and contact from Olivia and they love Hope as much as I do. I found the best loan home I could ever of asked for through you.”  These updates are so wonderful to hear.  It is fantastic to know that 6 months on the Loan Home found through the website is still going from strength to strength and communication from Loaner and Owner is a continued success.

Olivia also updated us on their journey with the lovely Hope which we would like to share with you here;

“We had been looking for a new horse for Poppy for a while when we we came across Hope, we’d had a bad experience buying a pony before so were keener to loan.

I had a few chats with Rebecca her owner, we shared some photos and videos back and forth of Hope and then of Poppy, my daughter, riding to see if we felt like it was a good match, I gave her references from our yard owner and from someone we had loaned from previously.

After deciding we thought it would be a good match we chose a ridiculously hot day to drive to Yorkshire and try her, she was a little quirky but my daughter is also quirky so they seemed like a perfect fit.

A few weeks later she came home with us and it has been great, having not been a pony club pony before everything was new to her but she has given us her all and will always have a go, and my daughter’s riding has gone from strength to strength as she learns how to teach her pony herself.

In the short time she’s been here she’s done cross country, pony club camp, gallops, mounted games, fancy dress and everything in-between.

And on top of it all I have a great friendship with Hope’s owner Rebecca, we love to send her videos and updates of what hope and poppy are up to and we are so grateful that she trusted us with her lovely pony.”
