For Sale £8,500 Nina
Nina is the sort of pony who is exceedingly hard to find—a reliable, easy-going mare with plenty of talent over a fence, yet equally happy to trundle along on a hack on the buckle end. A lovely combination of ability, temperament and versatility, all wrapped up in a pony-sized package!
By Letter Land and out of a mare by Parkmore Night, Nina boasts an Irish Sport Horse pedigree featuring influential names such as Guidam. She clearly inherited the sporting ingredients—she just didn’t fancy growing into a horse!
Nina has attended a number of unaffiliated competitions, confidently jumping courses of 90cm. She is brave and assured over a fence, covers the ground well and has the scope to progress further. She is also happy to help her rider out when the perfect stride doesn’t quite appear—a valuable quality for a competitive partnership. With further production, she has all the ingredients to make a fabulous BS or BE pony.
On the flat, Nina has three pleasant paces and is progressing well. She works in an outline, tries hard to understand what is being asked and offers a willing attitude to her schooling. There is plenty to build on for someone wanting to develop her dressage alongside her jumping.
Hacking is another of Nina’s strengths. She is a dream both alone and in company, happy to amble along on the buckle end and enjoy the scenery. She would make a fabulous mother-and-daughter share—the more cautious mum can enjoy her hacking, while the competitive teenager has plenty of pony to jump. The best of both worlds!
On the ground, Nina is straightforward, good to handle and easy to have around. She is not mareish and has a lovely, uncomplicated manner, making the everyday jobs a pleasure.
Nina passed a full five-stage vetting earlier this year. She has an old hock injury, which has been X-rayed, and a full veterinary report is available. The report states that there is no ongoing clinical significance that would prejudice her ability to compete. These records are available for prospective purchasers and their vets to review.
A truly fabulous mare with so much to offer, whether your plans involve competition weekends, relaxed hacking or a little of everything. A pony to put smiles on plenty of faces!
