Horse Details

Ted is a 4-year-old 14.2hh Connemara with the kindest temperament and a genuinely sensible outlook on life. He has an old head on young shoulders and is proving to be a safe, fun and enjoyable young pony to have around.

Ted has been cross country, on sponsored rides, to the beach, hacking alone and in company, and has done a little bit of jumping. He has three lovely paces on the flat and shows a lot of promise for the future.

Being only 4, Ted is still learning and developing, and therefore needs someone understanding and confident to continue his education. He is a very safe young pony — he does not bolt, buck or do anything silly. If you say “whoa”, he stops. He is naturally more “woah than go”, which makes him a lovely type to produce, and much easier to add sparkle to than take away sharpness.

Ted is currently only on hay with no hard feed, so there is plenty more to come as he strengthens and matures. He is not a kick-along plod, but equally he is not a sharp or overreactive pony. He simply needs a rider who will ride him positively and continue building his confidence.

He would make a fantastic project pony for someone wanting to put their own stamp on a genuine young Connemara and enjoy the journey with him.

On the ground, Ted is an absolute pleasure. He loves attention, enjoys being groomed, and is easy to handle. He can live in or out and mixes happily with mares and geldings.
