Horse Details

(Home more important than price!) Rome oozes presence but has impeccable ground manners. He’s everyone’s best friend – falls asleep to clip, perfect to shoe, easy to load and travel. He LOVES to hack – happy to explore and go to new places, sponsored rides etc. – he is keen and will march along nicely in walk, trot, canter but will always come back to you. He’s a brave horse. Hacks alone or in company – doesn’t really change. He is the type you can have fun on but not silly. He was my dream horse but although he can school nicely he prefers this as only one part of his routine. Me on the other hand wants a dressage-focused horse, which I can school most days and hack occasionally, not the other way around. He also prefers day turnout (very happy with stable overnight or can live fully out) but my livery options have limited turnout. I have now found my dressage diva stable-girly, so Rome is looking for someone else to adventure with. He has a very nice jump – will pop a decent hedge and poles from a trot but not done huge amounts of this as I’ve never been a keen jumper. He enjoys jumping, so maybe could do that for a job. He draws confidence from the rider, and prefers a kind quiet type, as he’s a sensitive horse. He’s had young teenagers hack and school him and gets on with them well. He can take up the leg, but prefers a lighter weight rider (I.e. he’s a big horse but not advertised as a weight carrier). He is a fab stamp of a horse, just sadly the wrong fit for me.
