Horse Details

A very genuine, talented Thoroughbred whom I’ve owned for the past three years. I bought him from my trainer, who had him from a three-year-old. He was lightly raced before being retired and between us he has been carefully and sympathetically retrained over the last seven years.

On the flat, OP works in a lovely, consistent outline and has won at Preliminary dressage, most recently winning at a competition in Windsor Great Park this October. He has also just qualifting for the ROR National Dressage Championships at Prelim level. He has competed successfully with British Showjumping up to 1m, is never spooky and has an honest attitude to his fences. He never says no and is regularly in the ribbons, including a placing in the British Novice at Hickstead.

With his ability in both dressage and showjumping, OP could be a really good prospect for eventing. I’ve only taken him cross country a few times, because our options are limited where we live and it isn’t something I’ve done much of in my own riding. Even so, he has been super willing every time.

OP has a lovely nature on the ground, has no vices and loves attention and fuss. He is easy to handle and good to clip, shoe, travel and load, which makes him a pleasure to have on the yard.

Hacking is limited where we are now, but he previously hacked extensively in Gloucestershire, both alone and in company. He is sensible in traffic and has also been to the beach.

He can be a little more forward and excitable when out and during the winter months, so he is not suitable for a novice rider. He would suit a confident rider looking for a fun, versatile partner for dressage, showjumping, eventing or RoR competitions.

This is a very sad sale, due solely to my work commitments. Finding OP a loving, knowledgeable long-term home is my priority and matters far more to me than the price. If you feel he could be the one for you but he’s slightly outside your budget, please do get in touch, as I’m happy to talk.

Based in Warfield.
