For Sale £11,500 Kalisi
If you’re looking for a genuine, confidence-giving partner with experience and a lovely attitude, Kalisi ticks all the boxes.
A stunning chestnut mare with a proven record up to Newcomers, she has all the scope and ability to step up to Foxhunter with the right rider.
On the ground, Kalisi is an absolute pleasure — kind, affectionate, and easy to manage. She loves attention and a good groom. She can be a little enthusiastic around feed times, but this has already improved as she’s settled into her routine.
On the flat, she works in three balanced, correct paces and has a soft, rideable feel. She’s not sharp or overly sensitive, making her an ideal step-up horse for a rider coming off ponies or an amateur wanting something straightforward.
Jumping is where Kalisi really shines. She maintains a rhythmical, collected canter, stays relaxed, and never gets strong or silly. A true “been there, done it” type, she’s bold to a fence, unfazed by fillers, and consistently gives a confidence-boosting ride.
Out hacking, she’s reliable both alone and in company. In new places on her own she may appreciate a little reassurance, but she’s sensible and willing. She’s great in traffic, open spaces, and woodland. Her only known weakness… alpacas — which she firmly believes are terrifying — though lorries and livestock don’t bother her at all!
She prefers travelling in a horsebox and is excellent to take out — standing quietly, easy to tack up, and polite to mount.
A genuine, experienced mare ready to teach her next rider and have fun doing so
