Horse Details

Harry is the sweetest boy and this is a truly heartbreaking decision. We are looking for an experienced, loving home, preferably with a small adult rider.

Harry is a forward going, responsive ride. Over the last year Harry has been enjoying unaffiliated dressage (prelim) and working really nicely on the flat, getting consistent marks from dressage judges. He needs a quiet, confident rider as he is a sensitive boy and takes his confidence from his rider, but he always tries his best.

Harry loves hacking out and is great in all traffic (including lorries, tractors, motorbikes) as well around farm animals. He will have an occasional spook if surprised by a pheasant or an unexpected twig! But is always honest and genuine.

On the ground he is the sweetest boy and an absolute pleasure to have around. Always easy to catch. Enjoys being groomed. Perfect for the farrier (shod on all four) and vet. He loads and travels perfectly every time.

We bought Harry almost two years ago with the hope of going eventing but sadly it’s clear that that’s not a job Harry is going to be comfortable with. Although he started life as a show jumper we’ve found that he gets stressed jumping and is much happier focussing on flatwork. He is happy doing polework clinics and occasional small jumps at home, but becomes anxious at jumping competitions. For that reason we are selling him as non-jumping pony and hoping to find a home for him where this isn’t the focus.

We absolutely love him and will be heartbroken to see him go, but having now bought a new horse for eventing we don’t have the time Harry deserves. He really deserves to be someone’s number 1 horse.

We want to find him a long term home with someone who will take the time to build a bond with him, and get to know him.
