For Sale £4,500 Polly
Polly is a 16.1hh British Warmblood
Bay mare 7 years old
She is turned out individually surrounded by other horses and likes to come in first. If left to last then is simply a little excited to come in – nothing someone experienced with horses will be phased by.
Easy to catch and a truly loving little mare
Good to clip, only needs shoes in front and is a good doer.
Polly loves to hack either alone or with a friend – she has lots of enthusiasm and would not be suited to a novice rider.
Polly has been out to unaffiliated competitions and placed in both dressage and showjumping
She is impeccably behaved at a show.
She has a huge talent for show jumping and pops over 90 with ease and is not phased by fillers, water trays etc.
BUT Polly does not like travelling
We have a trailer and have tried travelling facing forward or diagonally but either way she does not travel confidently.
We have sought advice from a professional but to no avail
We have worked with Polly and we can easily load at home but at a show it can take hours to load her to come home
When travelling she is very unsettled and consequently we have lost our confidence with the travelling issue and do not wish her to be injured whilst in transport.
(It has been suggested that she would possibly travel in a 7.5 tonne lorry but this is not an option for us)
Our ideal for this lovely mare is to find her a home with someone that is experienced in Natural Horesmanship and can help her with her travelling gremlins.
She has been checked out by a vet and nothing found as to why she finds travelling so difficult- this can be discussed further with anyone interested in this lovely mare.
Polly is having time off at the moment and is barefoot
She does have one foot that turns in but she has never been lame sick or sorry.
She does have front shoes on when working – we have never needed back shoes (she can be a little fidgety to be shod behind – nothing that a little time and patience would not solve)
She would love to be a horse that hacks out with someone that has access to fantastic hacking and may even be a horse suited to endurance.
Alternatively a broodmare where she does not have the stress of travelling
Home is more important than price – we would love this beautiful mare to find her forever home with a kind patient natural horsemanship base.
