A wonderful opportunity for a knowledgeable, sympathetic, experienced rider, located Rotherfield, East Sussex.
I have three lovely sports horses, approximately 16.1hh to 17hh, and I’m looking for the right person to help me keep them fit, happy and ticking over throughout the winter.
All three are talented, athletic horses with their own personalities, and all have been, or are currently, on rehabilitation programmes. Their ongoing fitness, correct way of going and general wellbeing are incredibly important to me, so I’m looking for someone who understands the value of thoughtful, sympathetic riding and working with each horse as an individual.
Ideally, I’d love to find someone who has ridden or competed to a good level in the past, perhaps someone who no longer has their own horses but would really enjoy getting back into riding from a small, private yard.
Experience and an understanding of equine bodyworks, correct schooling, balance and rehabilitation would be a real bonus. Above all, I’m looking for someone with good feel, quiet hands, an independent seat and the confidence to ride forward-thinking, sensitive sports horses.
These are not novice rides, and they do need someone experienced and capable, but for the right person they could be incredibly rewarding and enjoyable.
The main aim is to keep them fit through regular hacking and appropriate exercise over the winter and there is no financial contribution required. In return, I’d really appreciate someone who is happy to muck in with general yard duties, poo picking and the everyday jobs that come with keeping horses at home.
This is very much about finding the right person rather than simply someone to ride. I’d love to find someone reliable, kind and knowledgeable who genuinely enjoys horses, takes pride in doing things properly and would appreciate the opportunity to ride and spend time with three lovely individuals.
