Horse Details

I’ve owned George for 8 yrs since a year after he arrived from Ireland as Irish Sports Import. He’s been a fantastic hack and as my aspirations to develop dressage skills have progressed, he grew with me. However, he has recently been diagnosed with very early arthritic changes in his hind leg and responded well with steriod injection. I thought that would keep us on track towards Novice level but he’s not enjoying the arena so I’m looking for a lovely home where he can be used as light hack and be a great companion.

He loves people. His perfect set up would living out 24/7 although he is good to come into a stable, especially when there are too many flies. He has been stabled in the winter but needs plenty of turnout. He can be ridden 2-3 times a week and then left for weeks and he’s your same horse. It’s a very sad sale as I really had hoped that he was going to be my dressage diva but it’s not to be and I’m of an age (very late 50s) that I have to prioritise my dream. I don’t have enough time to ride two and so I know it’s the right decision for him as he’s too young and low mileage to completely retire. He’d be ideal as a light hack and would be great to be a companion to a ‘no.1’ horse as fine to leave on his own once he’s settled in his new home.
