For Loan Beau
Beau is 1 in a million. I’m sure a lot say that but he just wants to please.
I’ve had him since 3yrs old, he is a giant Labrador and wants to be fussed all day long. Loves humans and just being with you. He just grew too big for himself. His joints and ligaments could not and can not cope with, hence dressage, poles clinics (inc raised poles, light hacking only, (no jumping or galloping etc, steady canter on nice even ground, but would prefer mostly walk with trot if hacking, no good for sponsored rides) No jumping. If you want to jump, he is not the horse for you and also the reason he is loan only. He is 17.1h but does not ride big at all. Is incredibly comfortable and easy. I’m only 5,5, so can see in the pictures.
I have spent years learning dressage (which I have to say, is not my favourite, infact, the bottom of the pile) and the only reason Beau is for loan. He deserves a human that loves what he loves, as much as he does. I don’t. He absolutely loves going out to dressage competitions, flicking his toes, loves to learn more moves, incredible at learning new moves and just wants to please. He will be your best friend if you’re kind, praise him and he feels that.
He will only go to someone that wishes to get out and about, competing, clinics etc. He loves pole clinics too, he will load himself on the trailer! Will stand there quite happily at a competition watching the others.
He definitely needs some leg, he is a blood horse that doesn’t know it. No malice, will always look after you, such a kind , gentle, genuine horse with absolutely gorgeous paces. Therefore he needs a kind , calm but experienced human. Even though he has had my foster children on him, I will only want him to go to someone, either wanting to progress but can not afford the horse or lost confidence jumping and wants to go down the dressage route. He helps my foster children all the time, he is so kind, non spooky, you can walk under him. He will not go to be a beginner or someone completely nervous, sorry. Literally the only reason he is going to for loan is because he deserves to get out there and do what he loves, which is mostly dressage and I hate it. I would love to see him enjoying himself, and therefore ask he go for loan close by and that you let me know when competing. I am not competitive at all (or again, would be doing it myself) but I do love him and his rider enjoying themselves. That’s it. Also perhaps support in the initial early days of a loan.
Can be short term loan but would prefer long term as I do feel is nice to create a bond, Beau loves this and just flourishes too.
He is BD registered, Swatch in Ballygriffin, I’ve had him at prelim and Novice and done pretty well considering I have no understanding or passion for it, have done elementary unaffiliated, again, Beau was incredible , gaining 70%+ but I didn’t do under BD.
