For Sale £3,500 Peggy
Peggy is a 17-year-old 14.2hh piebald maxi cob mare who has been a much-loved part of our lives. She is a brilliant happy hacker who loves getting out and about. Peggy is very forward going, particularly out hacking, and can be strong, so she is not suitable for a complete novice. Peggy takes confidence from her rider so she would suit someone who is confident and enjoys a forward ride.
She will pop a few jumps and has previously hunted with a former owner (not by me), showing her versatility and willingness.
On the ground, Peggy is a dream, although can be cheeky so you need to show her who’s boss early on. She is exceptionally safe, excellent around children and other animals. She is good for the farrier and vet, and is unbothered by clipping. Peggy is equally happy living in or out, making her easy to fit into most setups. She is good to load and a good traveller.
Peggy does suffer from mallenders, which is manageable as long as it is kept on top of with weekly washing of her front legs. This is fully reflected in her management routine and she is comfortable when maintained correctly.
This is a genuinely sad sale, and a 5* home only is essential. Finding the right home for Peggy is far more important than a quick sale
