For Sale £6,500 Floyd
Sad sale of Floyd, who is now outgrown. He has been my daughter’s best friend for the past 4 ½ years taking her off the lead rein through to being a completely independent rider.
Good to catch, shoe, clip, load etc.
Vaccinations, teeth, worming, physio up to date. Always sound and has never had laminitis though, he will put on weight easily. We use a muzzle to help control his weight if needed. No sweet itch.
Can be turned out with mares or geldings, a home with company is a must, he is very playful and loves his friends.
He is brilliant to hack alone and in company and is always safe in open spaces. He is good with traffic but needs reassurance with big machinery and motorbikes. He will happily lead off another horse with a novice rider.
He has been a great pony club pony attending lots of rallies and camps. He enjoys show jumping and has competed up to 70cm and though he will jump 90cm happily at home, I think for competing, 70cm is around his comfortable limit. They always come home with a rosette and qualified for the pony club mini champs this year. Slightly green in cross country as we have done less of this but I think with more practice he would excel here too. He will happily do some flatwork in the school but he is not a dressage pony. He has never reared or bolted. He will very, very rarely do a tiny buck with excitement but never nasty.
He did hunt before we had him and my daughter tried hunting on him once which he found a bit exciting. He did not do anything nasty but he was very strong so I would not recommend him as a hunter for a small child.
This really is a sad sale and we would love Floyd to find a loving home and make another child as happy as he has made my daughter. Whilst she was very novice when she first had him, she was a brave rider and I don’t think he is suited to a very nervous rider and he is more of a typical second pony for a child.
Floyd can be a typical cheeky pony and sometimes strong on the ground. My daughter is generally able to do most things independently with him but he would be best to go to a home where there are experienced adults to help if needed.
We really do love this boy and a good home where he will be well looked after is the most important thing for us.
For sale with full wardrobe £6500.
