For Sale £3,500 Stuart
For sale Downlink Dream in Colour – Stuart
Very sad sale of 15hh Highland cross Sports Horse gelding (Drum coloured spur lines)
I have owned Stuart for just over a year and will try my best to post the most honest advert I can, to find him a forever home that suits him. I have never sold a horse before and it’s not a decision I have come to lightly, Stuart does not enjoy the things I want to do such as schooling and clinics and I feel finding him a home that would suit him would benefit him in the long run.
Stuart was mis-sold to me as an “all rounder” which he is not. I have traced him back to his breeder and he has only ever settled in a hunting home where he lived out and was hacked and hunted by a teenager ( he was there for 4 years) which I feel would be best suited to him.
Stuart is a great hack! He loves it and will hack alone or in company, first or last in heaviest of traffic, a lane, field or woods.
He will happily walk trot, canter and gallop and easily come back to you when out.
He currently lives in with me as he’s unable to live out at my yard, however he would live out and would love it! ( I think this is what he needs!)
He eats next to nothing a lives on fresh air.
He jumps well and enjoys it.
He’s good to clip and shoe.
Stuart does not like the school! I’ve had a few good schooling sessions on him however he doesn’t enjoy it an will make you work for every second that he is being well behaved in the school.
Stuart needs to be handled in a chiffney or he will bolt. He’s fine in a chiffney which I use at all times.
He’s better traveled in company as does get anxious when he arrives at a clinic. He is better to get tacked up and on straight away rather than wait around at the side of the trailer or lorry. I last took him out in February in very windy cold wet weather to a pole work clinic. He was anxious to start with but did relax.
Stuart would suit a competitive teenager/ light weight adult. He is not a novice ride and I will not sell him to any children. I am in no rush to sell him, he can stay where he is for as long as needs be. He’s currently being ridden between 4-6 times a week mainly hacking as that’s what he enjoys. He is up to date with back, teeth, vacs an wormer. I have a 3 stage vetting that he passed when I bought him a year ago and has since seen my vet (bell equine) for a case of hives and an abscess on separate occasions. I am Happy to share all this information with any potential new owners. Please do not contact me if you are a joy rider/ dealer I can guarantee I would be polite with my reply! He is not “not wanted” he is for sale as we just do not suit. I have worked with him for the last year to get him to settle into life with me, but I have to admit that what I want to do, isn’t suited to him. Stuart is not being given away and nor am I unrealistic with a price. All tacks and full wardrobe of rugs will be included. Please apply if you wish to discuss anything further. All potential homes will be vetted, I am also happy for a trial at his current is stable. No loans.
