The Friesian Horse originates from a province in Holland called Friesland. They are one of the most ancient horse breeds dating back to 500bc. They are a magnificent breed, tall in stature, powerful, full of presence and striking to look at.  They are black in colour and are often used as driving horses as well as ridden horses.  The Friesian Horse was bred originally as a medieval war horse and today many are used in re-enactments and jousting festivals as well as being used in movies and film.

They are renowned for their even-tempered nature and trainability.  Their calm and composed demeanour makes them a pleasure to work with and train. In fact, their inherent bravery, demonstrated through their role as exceptional warhorses, speaks volumes about their remarkable character.
